The Activision company was founded by former Atari programmers in 1979. At that time, all games were published by system's creators, making them the first third party video game publishers. A section of their manual is reserved for the designer. They were very successful because they produced high quality games. They also offered gift patches to players who had earned high scores. Activision still exists today and produces games like Doom, Diablo, Guitar Hero, and Starcraft.

Activision converted their most popular games from the Atari 2600 to the Colecovision. A total of 8 games have been released. They are very easy to find due to the popularity of these games.
